Wow, it's been over a year since I've updated. Hmm.
Big locations/work/social etc change coming up for me. I'll be leaving my work at Centro Legal de la Raza, my community and friends in Berkeley and moving back to Chicago. My family is still there and I have a job lined up with the Legal Assistance Foundation as their new Litigation Paralegal.
So, yup. Big changes are a'coming.
If you're in the area, let me know. I like people.

So, I'm a real adult now?
With a lump in my throat and the terrifying sensation that a bee was on my neck I shook President Osgood's hand. Turn right, down 4 steps, smile, flip over string thing on bizarre middle-ages inspired hat and return to seat.
So now you know what I did to "graduate" from Grinnell College last Monday. Obviously I did a lot more in the past 4 years, and I'm shocked that I didn't bawl on my final drive out of the tiny Iowan town. But, I did my fair share of crying and goodbye-ing in the days after graduation after my family had gone home. By Friday, I felt it was time to leave.
Funny thing though. I spent 2 days packing and jamming the CRV to the roof with my dresser, bed, microwave, kitchen stuff, clothes etc. That thing was stuffed. I mean me laying on my back kicking things under the dresser stuffed. I'm sure you can imagine my feeling of victory when I got it all in by myself and was ready to hit the road to Chicago. Then picture the horror in my eyes when I realized that I had packed so well that I had also packed the keys to the car....
I made it home eventually though.
I start my new job on Tuesday at the Wright Institute. I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing, but I have some new dress shirts so bring on the world!
* I can't spell. *
